When we grow unresponsive to love, all we have left is to wait. To wait uncomfortably. Love is always looking for a way to shake us out of denial. Very uncomfortable shaking, sometimes. Evil can’t stand in front of love.

In contrast, what happened when you were unable to prove yourself? Under the old prove-yourself mentality? You were brought to utter shame! Deathly shame.
